So i have decided to start a weekly post on what i have done every week.What went well and what not so much.
Being transparent with training will hopefully show that not every week and session has to be the best ever. we all have runnings ups and downs.
Week beginning Mon 26th Feb
Monday– Easy run with club leading our group 3 run – 4 miles in 40 mins. I love this group.
Tuesday – Rest day and a meeting to decide this years club winners for presentation night.
Wednesday– The beast from the East hit us,forcing me to unfortunately cancel training and add an extra days rest…
Thursday– chose to run a 10k on the treadmill,crikey they are boring! 10k in 60 mins nice and easy.
Friday– Before i caved to cabin fever i strayed outdoors for a run,the verdict? it was bloody freezing!! 3.2 miles in 26 mins.
Saturday – Gym day nothing too taxing ,a few sets of deadlifts,leg press and calf work.
Sunday- Last long run before race day.Ran 6 miles with my wife then looped back for another lap to grab the car . 12.5 miles in 1h50.
An easy week for me due to tapering for next weeks race.For the first time since Manchester marathon 2017 i feel raring to go.50 miles is a new distance for me but im looking forward to every step. (Do not remind me of this statement at mile 48!)

Running highlight of the week – I have been glued to the coverage of the world indoors this week. Laura Muir has battled non stop grabbing a bronze and silver.But the performance of the week had to be Andrew Pozzi for me,just look how close 1st and 2nd finished!
Non running highlight of the week- Black panther!
I’m a massive marvel fan and the latest film did not disappoint! Some of the special effects are out of this world!
